I'm not sure how many of you have seen the Sony Bravia commercials, but I really must say, if you haven't, you're missing out.

One takes place in San Francisco, and is all about balls. (That link may take some time to load, but well worth it)

The second, is all about paint.

And now the third in the "Colour Like.No.Other" campaign, has a trailer, with the full length expected to arrive early October.

It's really exciting to see Sony's take on the conventional TV spot, and it's incredible how much time and money they're willing to put into the project.

As a Bravia owner, I have to say, after watching countless Samsung, Sharp, and Toshiba's, at the local pub, or being subjected to plasma's at my friends houses, that Bravia really does offer Colour Like No Other.

The clothing mogul has let the people speak, and the people have spoken!

Barry Bonds, MLB player, and San Francisco Giant, recently set a record for the most homeruns by a single player in his career.

The ball that did it, was purchased in an auction by none other than Marc Ecko, of retail clothing fame. Ecko decided that the ball held a certain significance, as ole Barry has been accused of using performance enhancing drugs, to well.....enhance his performance.

He decided to put it to a vote, and see what the general public thought was a reasonable thing to do with the ball. Choices were : 1) send it to Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame) and have them display it 2) Brand an asterisk on the ball, denoting that the record was set by a player who has used steroids to enhance his performance, and then send it to Cooperstown, or 3) use a rocket to launch the ball into outer space.

Votes were tallied on Tuesday, and the public voted to place an asterisk on the famed "756" ball that marked Barry Bonds, controversial home-run record.

I personally agree with this decision, and I hope Barry realizes just how much of a joke he really is. Thankfully, the Giants are letting him go this year, which I think is the smart thing to do. The guy is a cheat, and a liar, and has tarnished the game of baseball forever. He's the Pete Rose of our generation, and he deserves no respect. Barry....your time in the spotlight is over....go home with you tail between your legs. Here's the story from yesterday.

Nike's "Nothing But The Truth" hits October 2nd

It appears that Nike SB's new video has finally been finished. The video premieres worldwide October 2nd-10th or something like that. Look for some seriously talented skateboarders to unleash their skills on the world. P-Rod can get bent as far as I'm concerned, but I'm sure his little switch tricks and gangsta steez will be adored by the masses. I want to see Chet's part personally, and I hope Janoski slays it as well.

New meaning to getting Munsened

Jena, Louisiana is heating up, even though it's September. The biggest civil-rights march in decades was held last week, in the small town, and things are really starting to get ridiculous. Trouble began last September when a noose appeared under a tree at Jena High School, to warn African American students not to sit in a whites-only hangout.
What followed was the beating of a white youth, who some believe was responsible for the racict stunt.
The trial for the 6 youth involved in the beating has been in the courts for months, but things began to boil over again this month, as demonstrators marched through the town to protest law enforcements treatment of the African American defendants.
To make things even more interesting, this week police arrested an 18 year-old youth in Alexandria, La., near Jena, after they found hangman's nooses draped from the back of his pickup truck while he drove near a crowd of people who had taken part in the protest at Jena earlier in the day. Jeremiah Munsen was charged with inciting a riot, and driving while intoxicated. (via Associated Press)
This puts a whole new face to the old thoughts of Munsen(Munson).
This will be a closely watched situation for the next few months I'm sure. Let's hope that everyone can sort out their differences, so the south can attempt to live down their "dirty" monicker.

The significance of 11:11

My girlfriends lucky numbers, or number, is 444. Since learning this, I seem to notice these numbers in more and more places, which prompts me to think of her, but also the significance of these occurences. Little did I know, this phenomenom is actually called something : apophenia which can be defined as applying meaning to random data. Supposedly, it feeds on itself, which helps me explain why I see this number more and more. I'm not sure the whole point of this post, except to say that, if you keep seeing the same number over and over, and you can't figure out why, there's a good chance, this will help explain it.

Halo 3

I can't say that I vibe gaming. I don't know what it is, but I'm just not that into it. Sure, sure, I've hit up my little cousins Wii, and who hasn't played even one of the Tony Hawk games, but this new ad campaign for Halo 3 is getting me incredibly motivated to invest!

If you've been living under a rock, or you don't own a computer, then here's the lowdown for you.

Last December, during NFL Monday Night Football, they hit us with this. It reached 7.9 million households and 1.8 million of its target 18-34 audience.

In May, fans could enter to win a chance to try a multiplayer beta version at Halo3.com. A third of a million people entered. Additionally, anyone who purchased the title Crackdown could play the beta. Before the beta expired on June 10, 820,000 participants spent more than 12 million hours of playing online. Using its saved films feature, where you can capture snippets of gameplay and download it, more than 350 terabytes of Halo 3 data was downloaded from Xbox Live (which is the equivalent of 82 million music downloads). {via Brand Week)

Then, marketers planted a fake ad in BestBuy flyers, and created an online, and offline scavenger hunt to unlock new info about the game, and it's back-story.

Halo 3 teamed up with Mountain Dew, Burger King, Game Stop, 7-Eleven, Samsung and Comcast. It is even sponsoring Linkin Park's current tour, and also managed to get Pontiac on board.

And of course, it's on the web, and TV, which means it's pretty much everywhere, and it's so damn good! The TV spots alone are estimated at $10 million, and before it hit stores yesterday, it was said that there had been over 1 million pre-orders for the game.

Get your hands on a copy if you can, and "Believe"!

Well, in any event, here's a shot at a post :

Baseball is just getting interesting. The Chicago Cubs have a shot at making the post-season, again, but there's yet another story line that may jinx those chances. These crazy folks have gone ahead and named their child after the Cubs stadium, Wrigley Field. I'm sure they don't need to be told what this type of thing can do for a poor kids future. There's a serious curse surrounding not only the Cubs, but Wrigley Field, and giving your son a name like that, is almost like cutting off his leg the second he's born. Here's hoping he doesn't grow up and get some season tickets, and end up making things even worse for his home team, kind of like this guy.
